Daikon Radish: What is it, and how do I eat it!!!

This root veggie is one of our most asked about products!!! If you don't know what this is it is a Daikon Radish! The daikon radish is a mild flavored winter-radish with varieties ranging in size from 8-20 inches long, with the largest variety, sakurajima daikon radish weighing in at up to 100 lbs!!!

This vegetable is an excellent source of Potassium and Vitamin C!

A quick and easy way to add root vegetables to your diet is by making a delicious salad! Check out the recipe below and try it out for lunch, dinner, or an interesting side dish!!!

BCD (Broccoli, Carrot, and Daikon) Salad 

INGREDIENTS
¥ 8 ounces daikon radish
* peel and slice 1-inch pieces (or smaller)
¥ 6 ounces peeled carrots
*slice in to 1-inch pieces (or smaller)
¥ 6 ounces broccoli florets
*cut into small pieces
¥ 1 cup chopped green onions
¥ 1/3 cup of your favorite vinegar (balsamic works great)
¥ 2 1/2 tablespoons minced peeled fresh ginger
¥ 1 1/2 tablespoons sesame oil
¥ Garlic to taste
¥ ¼ cup of chopped fresh cilantro
¥ ¼ cup of chopped fresh parsley

PREPARATION
After the vegetables and herbs are cut and washed transfer them to medium bowl. Add green onions. Combine vinegar, ginger, oil, and garlic sauce in a separate small bowl to blend; pour over vegetables and toss to coat. Season with sea salt and black pepper and serve.
